The 1888 Sundsvall fire, the largest city fire in Swedish history, occured on 25 June 1888 and started after a spark from the steam boat 'Selånger' when traveling on Selångersån. Notation 'Enveloppe affranchie à la main lors de la déstruction par incendie de la ville de Sundsvall on le bereau de poste fût égalent détruite' (Hand-stamped cover during the destruction by fire of the city of Sundsvall where the post office was also destroyed).
