Sweden. Lot military mail. Internment of the Polish submarines in Sweden 1940-1945: Lot of three covers. One registered cover with censor cancel "WAXHOLMS FÄSTNING" and postmark VAXHOLM 29.3.1940, then a cover with two lilac cancels in Swedish and French about free Prisoner of War (PoW) mail and postmark "VAXHOLM" 19.2.1940 with content. This one is shown in Facit Postal X catalogue. Third cover is from when the Polish sailors where later interned in Mariefred 1941 with different censor cancels and postmark "STOCKHOLM 5" (where all this kind of mail was handled) 6.12.1941. All covers nicely mounted on pages with facts about this starting when 3 Polish submarines escaped the Germans in Sep.1939. Total 182 Polish were kept in captivity.
