Addressed to Paul Schäck, trooper of the Imperial Protection Army for DSW-Africa, in the northern district command at Johann Albrechtshöhe' (Government Station Johann Albrecht Mountain) near the Barombi lake, German Cameroon. The German P.O. in Johann-Albrechtshöhe existed 1909–1915. Re-addressed to the military horse depot in Okawayo, German South West Africa. One short corner perf. and the card somewhat worn of less importance. Very rare destinations, of which Cameroon is the scarest with 2K (two recorded covers) according to Ferdén. Sweden. Facit 210 on cover, 5 kr, single usage, on registered special delivery air mail cover, with currency control, sent from POSTMUSEUM STOCKHOLM 11.10.45 to Hans Lagerlöf in USA. Lagerlöf emigrated early to the United States and built a successful company for paper pulp imports. He collected huge amounts of stamps and became an international great collector of dignity. He made 23 donations to Postmuseum, of which the most important donation contained the two world famous Mauritius Post Office stamps. Arrival pmk's e.g. NEW YORK, N.Y. Danish circle cancellation KJØBENHAVN 27.6.35 on Swedish stamps 2×5 öre Swedish Parliament, and Danish stamps 2×10 öre Wavy-line type quadrille background, on postcard dated "Bjerred 25.VI.35". Presumable posted in the wrong direction, wherefore the Swedish stamps corresponding to postcard rate have been invalidated and for which reason the Danish stamps have been surcharged as postage due for an unpaid postcard, and then forwarded to Sweden. Addressed to Stöcksjö, and originally Umeå which have been crossed out. Interesting item. Show less
