This will delight any serious collector or dealer of Zemstvos, hugely undervalued today, esepcially given the paucity of numbers printed and seen on the market, particularly in collection format. A wonderful collecting area with huge potential for the future, offered intact as received, a highly recommended viewing. Approx. 11 kg. (767) Show less

Soviet Union. ★★/★/⊙. 1000s of stamps mint and used, housed in 2 very well filled volumes from 1917 to the 1940s, starting with high values, both perf and imperfs during the revolutionary period and much back of the book, extensive in research. Perhaps with the more obvious value is the commemorative section of the 1930s, nevertheless the better collection is very probably the first volume 1917-29 with, for example, Yvert #184a wing marginal imperceptibly hinged cat €800, as well as many other better stamps of the Youth Stamp Exhibition o/ps. The inflation overprints are also so extensive inc unlisted, through to the 1923 workers defins to 5rb with both A and B types to 3rb and 5rb. Also noticed the first issues of the long Lenin high value types mint to 10rb, all differentiated inc the seldom seen #331b, etc. In the mid 1920s a good range of both perf and imperf sets mint and used with plenty of material, page after page, much identified. The second volume as indicated loaded with value and reflects the pattern of this collector, he went for material 'outside of the box', as well as basic good sets, etc. Substantial and valuable, a much recommended viewing. Also present same #7 unused, rich colours, small faults cat €1000, followed by 3x 1863 mint blue and black 5 kop and interestingly a used #1 Poland , pmk '17'. Further issues with manuscript cancel with a block of 4x #9, cat as singles €1000, followed by a lot of further good issues to the 30 kop, cataloguing 1000s of euro to study. There are many more of the Tsarist types to 30kop, including a good number of superb - all in all there are 1000s of stamps here chronologically organised inc #37, the 7rb without thunderbolts (with a false cancel), etc. Simply put, a great collection with so much more here, also included collateral, literature, etc. Somewhat mixed quality. Soviet Union. ★/⊙. A quality collection, mint and used, written up, firstly the 1866/75 Tsarist types to 30 kop, the latter a superb cds, perf 14 ½ by 15, then further studies of these defins 1875/82 inc the different papers and perf types, posthorns without thunderbolts, etc. Then 1899 through to the 20th century inc blocks of 4 o/ps 1912, 1913 Romanovs and many more multiples of Russia during transition inc high values of the imperial types, through to the last years of the 1920s. Lots of varieties too among the 100s of examples here. Then a good study of the dual 'postage stamp/currency' types inc mint multiples, similarly with the surcharges, etc. Also extensive study of postmarks 1855 onwards with many dozen stamps to 30 kop inc coloured cancels, etc. Also seen cut squares from 1866 onwards, both mint and used, useful 19th century p.stats inc items we have never seen before. Also seen some interesting worker defins incorporated into large advertising vignettes used, as well as 1932 Yvert #460 MNH imperf pair with touched frameline on left, Gorki 15 kop, as well as further interpanneau pairs and saving stamps used as postage, etc. Much much more here to investigate a lovely collection that will delight the specialist. Soviet Union. ★★/★/⊙. A substantial stock of airmails and zeppelins, well represented, mint and used, housed in one volume, chronologically organised with much in tip top quality. Highlights inc the large zeppelins of 1930 inc different types 'A' and 'B' with 8 of these, then the 31 and 32 zeppelin including the scarce 50 kop MNH Yvert #26a and then 4 copies of the same used, also noticed similar in depth studies of the 15 kop different types and wmk varieties, through to the North Pole perf and imperfs again with a study of different types, the 1932 maps mint and used inc the scarce 1rb Yvert #30, further Zeppelins of 1934, followed by stratospheres with 3 sets, on to the 1934 CCCP plane types mint and used, further studies of varieties through to the San Francisco o/p used and virtually everything else for that period, focusing on the same pattern and research of different types as listed (and unlisted). There are many 100s of stamps here through the 1950s, ideal for a dealer or collector, especially those looking for varieties and outside the box, a much recommended holding. Show less
