India, states. Revenues, collection 1860s-1979. Outstanding collection of revenues and back of the book, housed in 19(!) albums housing 1000s of stamps. This represents one man’s lifetime collection and includes states that were part of other states for postage purposes, yet this was not the case for revenues where they were separately printed state for state. So not only is there some very unusual material from the Native states as listed in Gibbons, there is much from other Native states, often unlisted in much of the literature on revenues, it is that comprehensive. This represents a collection that is very probably irreplaceable today.It is one of the best collections of its kind that we have had the pleasure to offer, an opportunity seldom available in the market today.
