Sweden. Postal stationery, Single postcard, Facit bKe10, 54, 2×10 öre on postal card 5 öre sent from GÖTEBORG 10.VII.00 to Germany. The card intended for domestic usage is missing the UPU phrase 'Carte Postale' which was prescribed in the international mail exchange. The given destination 'Tyskland' has been indicated as improper with blue crayon and the indicium 5 öre has demonstratively been covered up with one of the stamps prepaying the letter rate. Sometimes, Sweden went over board reading the UPU rules – in this case it was a misinterpretation of the prescription, before the short period when Sweden really taxed such usages. Highly interesting item.
