On account of the second naval blockade during the Crimean War, the letter was sent the southern route via Germany and Riga. Cancellations YSTAD 19.10.1855 and AUS SCHWEDEN PER STRALSUND, plus two Russian pmks. Postage due "36 ¼" (kop) noted on reverse. One of only a very few known letters sent southbound during the second blockade. International exhibition item in superb quailty.
